Athletic Trainer
Alexander
Zettlemoyer, ATC
Alexander “Sandy” Zettlemoyer
has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Mechanicsburg
since the fall of 1995.
Sandy is responsible for all aspects of the
sports medicine program, including preventive training,
first aid, injury management and rehabilitation for the
Middle School and High School. The Sports Medicine
staff’s objective is to see that Mechanicsburg
athletes receive the best care for their injuries. By
contributing these valuable services to the students,
they identify and treat injuries allowing a safe and
speedy return to competition.
Sandy
is a PIAA district and state championship Certified
Athletic Trainer. He
is asked to lecture frequently to health professionals
on contemporary sports medicine issues.
He is also a member of the National Athletic
Trainers’ Association (NATA), Eastern Athletic
Trainers’ Association (EATA), the Pennsylvania
Athletic Trainers Society (PATS). Sandy
is a Clinical Supervisor for Messiah College, overseeing
students in Athletic Training Practicum IV.
In addition, Sandy has worked in several other
local school districts including Bishop McDevitt,
Central Dauphin East and Shippensburg.
He has worked for the Keystone State Games and
served on their Sports Medicine Advisory Committee. He
also worked for the Harrisburg Heat Indoor Soccer team
and Central Penn Piranhas Football team. Sandy
is a 1987 graduate of MASH and member of the football
and track teams. He
continued his football career at Lebanon Valley College
where he earned three varsity letters.
In 1991, Sandy graduated from LVC with a degree
in Psychology. He
then attended West Chester University and earned a
Sports Medicine degree.
Sandy and his wife, Michelle, reside in Upper
Allen Township. They
have a son, Gaige(9) and a daughter, Sydney(4).

Assistant
Athletic Trainer
Amy
Roman, ATC
Amy
is beginning her second year as the assistant athletic
trainer for the
Mechanicsburg
Area
School District
. Amy is a
2005 graduate of
Messiah
College
where she received her B.A. in Athletic Training.
While attending Messiah, Amy was inducted into
the Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity, an honor society for
those pursuing careers in the health and fitness
field. She
is also a 2001 graduate of
Camp
Hill
High School
. Currently, Amy is a certified member of the National
Athletic Trainers’ Association, Pennsylvania
Athletic Trainers’ Society as well as the National
Strength and Conditioning Association.
In addition to her work with Mechanicsburg, Amy
has also worked as an athletic trainer for various
PIAA state championships as well as the Boston
Marathon.

Paul
Brower, PT, ATC
Paul
Brower has been with Mechanicsburg school district since
the fall of 2000. Paul achieved his Athletic
Trainer Certification with
Sandy
through the internship route. Which he
obtained over 1600 hours and is now a Certified Athletic
Trainer and continues to be at the school and helps out
whenever he is needed. Paul can be seen at most
evening and weekend events. He can also be seen on
the sidelines of the football games. Paul
is also a Physical Therapist at Holy Spirit Hospital,
where he treats both inpatients and outpatients.
Paul graduated from College Misericordia in 1996 with a
Master's degree in Physical Therapy. Paul and his
wife, Joann, reside in Hershey. |
